Conflict Coaching
Community & Mediation provides free coaching in conflict resolution. This is a structured process that helps people, on a one-to-one basis, to develop their skills in interpersonal conflict.
All of our conflict coaches have completed training in conflict management and are accredited by the Mediator’s Institute of Ireland.
How can coaching in conflict resolution help you?
Some examples of where coaching in conflict resolution might be useful include:
Short term, once-off conflicts – Conflict resolution
This is where you are finding it difficult to communicate or deal with another person around a particular issue or behaviour. Two or three sessions of conflict coaching can give you better insight into how best to manage or deal with the situation.
Long term – Conflict resolution
Take regular sessions, for up to three months, in order to improve your general conflict competencies and skills.
We advise that conflict resolution training should be undertaken prior to Mediation to enhance your skills.

How does conflict management training work?
Our highly trained professionals from Community Law & Mediation will guide your conflict management coaching as follows:
- Work with you to clarify the goals you want to achieve over a series of 90 minute conflict resolution training sessions.
- Assist you in developing the best strategy to achieve your conflict resolution end-goals.
- Build on your experience so you can deal with conflict more effectively in the future.
How long does coaching in conflict resolution take?
Depending on the situation, it may only take one or two sessions e.g. if it relates to just one issue which you need insight on how best to manage.
Many people find it useful to work in a little more depth on a couple of skill areas, for example where you have difficulty in saying ‘no’ to people or where you have unhelpful conflict management behaviour you want to address. This would take longer – perhaps 2 or 3 sessions per month for a period of 2 to 3 months.
Sessions usually last 90 minutes and can also be over the telephone.
